Born and raised in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains I attended school First at South Macon elementary, Macon Middle, then Franklin Highschool where I first discovered my passion for welding. I took all welding courses offered at Franklin and by the time I left Franklin High I had Participated in Skills USA competitions at a State level for welding.
I however did not pursue that path at that time, spending the next few years at UNC Charlotte pursuing a path in Mechanical Engineering. While I did not take home a full degree I still learned much about design and the Engineering process. In the end it solidified my desire to work with my hands and make things.
I worked as a Deli Associate with Ingles Markets to support myself and eventually paid my way through the welding program at SWCC. Surely a huge turning point in my life thus far, and possibly the best decision I have made. Through the excellent instruction and guidance from all faculty and staff I completed the courses in SMAW, MIG, and TIG welding and graduated with high honors.
I love the local area and beauty of Western NC, and working for myself is appealing for many reasons. Some people aim for the stars when they begin in a similar business, however I'm just aiming to fill my workshop with ever more interesting projects and help others along the way.
I also enjoy other hobbies such as board gaming, tabletop RPGs, reading, 3D printing, and woodworking. Those are beyond the other metalworking related hobbies such as an interest in forging, casting, and machining!
