Projects During 2021

A variety of Jobs or projects completed or worked on during 2021.

Powder Coat Oven Frames/Box

Unfortunately I don't have more pictures of this project completed for a customer. He supplied materials. In total this project took around 4 months, starting in Dec, 2020. Mostly taking that time because the materials were not readily available.

It consisted of 6 "frames" of 1" steel tubing, each of which had to bolt together via the internal welded nuts. Every side of the box had to be sheathed in the aluminum sheet on both sides, sandwiching insulation filling the 1" of void. The panels were affixed via sheet metal screws and rivets.

A pair of hinges let the "door" panel swing open. Fittings for stem casters were welded inside the uprights of the sides. Customer requested the outside dimensions be 4'x4'x6'. it was bulky but able to be disassembled for transport.

I am not aware if the customer ever went through with his plans for the box. 3/12/2021

SCC Walking Path Gates

Technically a school project, however it didn't really fit with the endless weld coupons or practice pieces. In total, the fabrication class had 4 students and the instructor to manufacture 2 sets of gates, I only took pictures of one. It was quite a crunch with class once a week and focus on the project wasn't clear at the beginning, with the addition of having to dig the post holes and set them being unexpected as well. Picket spacing and the difficulties with pre-fabricated hinges were some of the main learning points for me on this project. I utilized the school's plasma CNC table to make the top motif.

Aluminum Intake "Re-fabrication"

Was asked to make this assembly with an oxy-sensor and a large port for I think a pressure vent? I had to recover the threaded section from the previous part that did not meet specifications.

Keeping parts straight and square was critical to application and client was happy with the better functioning result.

Welding Table

My Workbench I Fabricated. Still a work in progress as dog holes and other features are still to be added.

Decorative Steel Dagger

This is a quick project that I made for my Girlfriend. I say quick but it took 3 days for the majority of the work, engraving with a modified file was new to me.

This is a recreation of the "Steel Dagger" from Skyrim.

Aluminum Truck ramps Modification and Welding

Two ramps, one had been welded previously but I'm unsure the process as the welds were quite hot but I was able to clean most of the melting up to an acceptable point. The other was incomplete as an extension was being added.

Adding the extension was a cinch and the final result was good.
